M4A to Text Online
Upload an M4A voice recording to List55 and turn it into editable text or a clean list. M4A files are common in iPhone Voice Memos and other Apple recording workflows.
How to transcribe a M4A file
- Open List55 and press the upload button.
- Choose the M4A file that contains the speech.
- Wait while List55 prepares the audio and transcribes it.
- Review the editable text, then copy it into the app where you need it.
AAC and Apple Lossless M4A files
M4A is a container, not a single codec. AAC recordings normally use the lightweight MediaBunny path. Apple Lossless Audio Codec files, also called ALAC, go directly to FFmpeg before transcription.
If the file does not work
The file must contain a readable audio track. Incomplete, corrupt, encrypted, or DRM-protected media cannot be transcribed. List55 first uses its lightweight browser converter and loads FFmpeg only when broader format or codec support is needed.
